Serum albumin, the main protein of plasma, has a good binding capacity for water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs. Hyperthyroxinemia, familial dysalbuminemic (FDAH) [MIM:615999]: A disorder characterized by abnormally elevated levels of total serum thyroxine (T4) in euthyroid patients.
